  • Marine Advisor


    Deep sea service in the Merchant Navy was from 1968 to 1976. After obtaining the Masters Foreign-going Certificate of Competency from Board of Trade UK, he joined the Malaysian Civil Service as a Marine Officer of the Marine Department Malaysia in 1977 and was engaged as the Master of MV Pedoman where he was responsible for the installation and maintenance of marine aids to navigation in the Straits of Malacca and off the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. During this time he was associated with the Four Nations Joint Current and Tidal Studies for the Straits of Malacca and Singapore as well as the development of the Common Datum Chart.

    From 1979 to 1998 he has served as harbour master for the States of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka (Central Region), Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Perak (Northern Region) and Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang (East Coast Region). He was the Director of Enforcement at Marine Department Headquarters before being on loan to the Maritime Institute of Malaysia from 1994 to 1996 to serve as the Head of the Centre of Ocean Law and Policy.

    He returned to Marine-Department as its Deputy Director General and in 1998 was promoted to Director General and remained so until 2006. He has also carried out the statutory duties of the Registrar General of Ships, Surveyor General of Ships, Principle Receiver of Wrecks and Principle Examiner of Master and Mates. He was the Chairman of the Light Dues Board to manage a trust fund for the establishment and maintenance of aids to navigation and the Central Mercantile Marine Fund for the development, engagement and support for seafarers. From 2004 to 2005 he was the Chairman of the 1971 FUND Administrative Council with its headquarters in London, which had fulfilled the roles of the FUND Assembly and Executive Committee and dealt with the administrative as well as the incident related matters associated with compensation for damage from oil spills.

    From 2006 to 2010 he was engaged as the Maritime Attache based at the High Commission of Malaysia in London during which time he represented Malaysia at the meeting of the IMO as the Alternate Permanent Representative.

    From 2010 to 2012 he was engaged as the Project Manager for the construction of the Marine Electronic Highway for the Straits of Malacca and Singapore which was a GEF/IBRD/IMO Project with the World Bank as the Implementing Agency and IMO as the Executing Agency.

  • Managing Director


    Datuk Wira Noormustafa Kamal Yahya, holds a BSc Nautical Studies (UK) and is a member of Chartered Institute of Transport (CIT). An experienced ex-seafarer, he was selected as the first batch of LNG apprentice for MISC Bhd first LNG carrier project in 1980. He had attended liquefied natural gas course at Schevengger France, to manage and operate LNG tanks and ships.

    He sailed as watch keeping officer for 5 years onboard various types and sizes of ships. His responsibilities include safe passage of ship and cargo to destination as well as ensuring the ship's safety equipment complies with international maritime standard (SOLAS and IMO).

    Technically, he has been involved in various shipping and marine industry related operations such as tug boats supply and management to Port of Singapore; management and operation of salvage ships with Salvindo Pte Ltd; management and consultancy on engine supply to Navy ships; extensive dealings in import and export of cargo with Shamsul Holding Sdn Bhd; construction of Break Water of Kerteh Port with Saipem Group. Commercially he has involved in many business dealings and exposures. His network with business community and Associations further supports his resources in facing the challenging business world.

    In recognition of his technical, management, leadership and business experience, in 2005 he was appointed as President of ALAM ALUMNI (association consist of professionals and officers who had studied at Akademi Laut Malaysia) and council member of Advisory Committee to Malaysia Maritime Academy (ALAM) on student affairs and education matters.

  • Executive Director


    Capt. Mohd Zanif Hashim, holds a Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency – Class 1. He is an ex-seafarer for merchant ships and has 13 years of sea experience with MISC Berhad from 1979 to 1993. He has served various types and size of vessels trading worldwide.

    He started shore based career in insurance dealing with claims handling activities at Spica Services Sdn Bhd in 1993 as Claim Manager until 2005. During his 12 years tenure he has lead and develop Malaysia office into a respectable P&I Club Correspondents in South East Asia. He has presented claim handling, loss prevention and papers on P& I, TT Club, ITIC and pollution at workshops and seminars to the shipping fraternity. Thereafter, he joined T.A.G Marine Sdn Bhd as business partner and shareholders.

    Currently, he is designated as Executive Director and Board of Directors for T.A.G Marine Sdn Bhd. He involved in consultancy and advisory services in various marine projects and activities. Together with his partner he prime mover over the creation and development of LIFT-HUB alternative concept in providing the ship to ship liquid cargo transfer operation services.

    He is an award winner on "Seaport Management" paper in CIT qualification exam and member of CIT and IKMAL. He is also the ex-Treasurer of ALAM Alumni and active leading member of the association. He poses strong management skills particularly on technical, marine, insurance, and legal aspect gained from his past experience in handling liability claim cases plus his presence as prominent player in local shipping and marine industry.

  • Head of Marine Operations / Single Point Authority


    Capt. Shamsul Kamal bin Ibrahim, a Master Class I Foreign Going Unlimited Voyage Vessel has over 15 years of sailing experience and has been involved in various shipping operations throughout his career on and off the sea.

    He started as a deck cadet in Malaysia's Maritime Academy in 1991 and promoted as a Master in 2002 while sailing with Global Carrier for Petronas Dagangan Berhad. Capt. Shamsul Kamal has vast knowledge and experience in various types of vessel operation and management.

    Capt. Shamsul Kamal joined T.A.G. Marine Sdn Bhd as Person in Overall Advisory Control (POAC)/ Loading Master in December 2012 and later was promoted as the Head of Marine Operation complimenting on his dedicated service and hard work in TMSB. He has manage and coordinate over 200 STS throughout his time with TMSB as well as leading on other internal ventures.
